Arthur Lanigan O’Keefe (2010) First Irishman Ever to Qualify for World Championships -September 2014

Arthur Lanigan O’Keefe is the first Irishman ever to qualify for the Modern Pentathalon Senior World Championships which were held in Warsaw earlier this month.

Arthur was awarded a Sports Scholarship to Milfield College in England  while he was in Transition Year in Glenstal Abbey School.

Arthur represented Ireland and competed in the London Olympics in 2012 where he finished in 24th place. His latest achievement in coming 18th in the World Championships shows his steady improvement since London.

Arthur is presently on a well-earned break after the World Championships and resumes his training in two weeks. His focus is now firmly on qualifying for the Rio Olympics.

Arthur is a potential Olympic medal winner which is very exciting for everyone here at GlenstalARthur. If anyone is interested in sponsoring or helping him on his way he would love to hear from you.
