Christmas Recital

img_0162-copyThe Annual Christmas recital took place in the Boardroom on Tuesday the 13th of December. MC Peadar O’Lochlainn welcomed everybody and then joined  The School Orchestra to perform the Beatles number Eleanor Rigby followed by the theme piece from The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly by Ennio Morricone.

Other highlights included: Leonard Cohen’s Hallelujah sung by Jack Leonard, Glentsal’s own Barbershop group, solos by Tim Hyde (Two jigs onthe fiddle), Sean Coleman (Dancing On My Own), Tarka Roche (La Grima), Declan Kinehan (Fairytale of New York), Patrick Staunton-O’Doherty (Fields of Green) and an incredible rendition of The House of The Rising Sun. 

Colum Grogan (on drums) and Shane O’Connor (Electric guitar) then did a duet with their own arrangement of Lizard State.


img_0185-copyThe show concluded with Harry Boland bringing the house down with his version of the Sinatra hit  – I Did It My Way – accompanied on piano by Rory Moloney.

What a show of talent! Thanks to all the parents and students who came to encourage the boys and well done to all who participated!
