Murroe Active Senior Citizens Christmas Party

On Thursday, December 11th the 5th Years hosted a Christmas Dinner and Party for 29 Active Senior Citizens, all ladies from Murroe and the surrounding countryside.

The ladies started to arrive at about 2.00pm where they were welcomed by Fr. William in the Outer Playroom. Then everyone moved into the Senior Ref where the 5th Years served Christmas Dinner to the ladies.

After Dinner we returned to the Outer Playroom for tea, coffee and mince pies in front of a roaring fire.

Then it was into the Inner Playroom where Gordon Daly accompanied by Br. Denis on guitar led a Christmas sing along. Gordon sang all the favorite Christmas songs and was a big hit with the Murroe ladies. Some of the 5ths joined Gordon on stage, notably Marco Guilini, Rory Johnston and Johnny Williams.

Then Santa Claus Sheedy along with his little Elf helper Glavey received a tumultuous welcome from everyone. Santa had a present for each of the ladies which was distributed by his ever helpful Elf who managed to have his photo taken with all of the ladies.

The evening finished off with more tea, coffee and mince pies in front of the fire in the Outer Playroom and the lads then saw the Murroe ladies off.

It was a every enjoyable evening and congratulations to each and everyone of the 5th Years who were magnificent ambassadors for their families and school.
