Glenstal Choir in Rome

copy-of-choir-in-irish-college-chapelThe boys from Glenstal Abbey School Choir travelled to  to Rome on the 25th of November for the long weekend where they performed in the Irish College and the Church of San Clemente. They were accompanied by Choirmaster Fr Columba,  and Fr Martin, Bursar of Glenstal Abbey and former Headmaster of Glenstal Abbey School.

Their visit was coupled with a tour of Rome and its environs  including the Colosseum where they happened upon none other than world renowned Physicist Stephen Hawking! Choir Prefect Jack Leonard commented: ‘It was unreal! How come Stephen Hawking was in the same place at the same time as us?’

Hawking was apparently in Rome at the invitation of the Vatican on some Science Conference! What a coincidence!
