JP McManus and AJ McCoy Enjoy a Sunday Afternoon in Glenstal – November 2013

On a very wet Sunday afternoon, JP McManus and AP McCoy dropped out of the sky in a helicopter and came up to the school from the match pitch where the chopper landed.

They were early for their appointment as Guests of Honor at the opening of the refurbished Muintir Na Tire Hall in Murroe.

So, Br. Denis took them into the Housemasters Sitting Room where they watched the Man Utd v Arsenal game. Aiden McNulty arrived in with a plate of cookies baked by Anna Murphy, mother of Jack (First Year) and both men tucked in. In fact, we were all surprised to see the two men have seconds and even thirds. They demolished the plate and there was nothing but crumbs left…a compliment to Anna for sure.

After the game AP and JP drove down to Murroe where there was a packed Hall for the ribbon-cutting ceremony. Both men signed books for the Glenstal lads lucky to be there to meet them.

Paddy Molony interviewed AP for GTV and we will put the interview on the web at some stage in the near future.

What a great afternoon it was. Both JP and AP were very generous with their time to all the Glenstal lads they met. They couldn’t have been nicer. True legends.Web-AJ-Paddy-Book
