It gave us great pleasure to witness the Class of 2014’s Leaving Cert results last Wednesday. The class average was 459 points which is a more than eloquent testimony to the work put in by the students themselves and also to their teachers and the staff here who have journeyed with them to produce this result of which we can all be justifiably proud.
Our highest achieving student received 7 A1s and we are as proud of his achievement as if we had achieved it ourselves.
Despite year to year fluctuations that are inevitable due to class size and other factors 2/3rds of this year’s cohort achieved over 400 points, with 1/5th of them getting over 500 points.
Congratulations to the students too on their successful negotiation of the CAO process and we wish them well on the road that lies ahead. Of the 27 students 9 are going to TCD, 4 to UCC, 4 to UL, 3 to UCD with the remaining 7 going to a variety of universities here and abroad.
