Three Glenstal players were involved in the Munster U18 Schools v Connacht U18’s in the Sportsground in Galway on Wednesday, September 10th. Munster won the game 24-3.
Colm Hogan and Jack Stafford started on the Munster team at Fullback and Centre respectively. Tim Costigan captained Connacht and started at No 12.
All three Glenstal players acquitted themselves well. Neutral and biased observers alike agreed that Colm Hogan was Man-of-the-Match having set up both Munster trys.
Munster’s next game is against Ulster in Belfast on Saturday 20th. Connacht play Leinster in Dublin.
As well as the three Glenstal lads involved in todays game, Jamie McAleese is on the Connacht U19 Squad and John Healy is on the Connacht U20 Squad.
Rory Clarke and Ben Healy were also in action for the Munster U17 Development Squad in their game against Connacht last week. By all accounts Rory and Ben played very well.
This is a Golden Age for Glenstal representation in Munster and Connacht rugby.
