Congratulations to Peadar Brehony on his magnificent achievement on being awarded the Graduate of the Year Medal from the School of Biological, Earth and Environmental Sciences in University College Cork.

Peadar was also awarded a First Class Honours Degree on graduation and to top it all off, he was awarded the Maire F. Mulcahy Prize for the top Zoology Graduate.

Peadar is well-known to many of us in the school. He has helped train the 5th Year students for their Yearly trips to Tanzania. Peadar spent a large part of his younger years growing up in Tanzania where both his parents were working.

Peadar was an excellent and gifted student during his years in Glenstal. He participated in a wide range of activities and played on the Wing for the SCT. His natural speed saw him beat many an opponent on the outside in classical Wing fashion.

Peadar is currently in Perth, Australia as part of his post-Graduate World Tour year and he hopes to return to Ireland in the next couple of months.

On behalf of everyone here at Glenstal, we congratulate Peadar on his wonderful academic achievements and we look forward to a visit from him on his return.
