Visiting Glenstal Abbey
Monasteries – Saint Benedict reminds us – are never without guests. We have a long tradition of welcoming visitors to share in our home and prayer, and to encounter something of God during their stay with us.
Glenstal Abbey is a place of outstanding natural beauty and, as the Latin inscription ‘PAX’ over the archway suggests, a place of great peace too. People connect with Glenstal Abbey in a variety of ways – through the rhythm of our daily prayer, in a visit to our grounds, by participating in a retreat or in a stay at the Guesthouse, God Pods or Cottages.
We encourage you to browse this page to find a suitable way of visiting, and we look forward to welcoming you soon.
Let all guests who arrive be received like Christ, for he is going to say, ‘I came as a guest, and you received me’. And to all let due honour be shown, especially to the domestics of the faith and to pilgrims. Rule of Benedict, Ch. 53
