Choir Sings Carols in the Children's Ark Ward in UHL
Denis Hooper

The school Choir along with Fr. Columba and Fr. Denis went to the Children's Ark Ward of University Hospital Limerick to sing carols for the children-patients there.

When we arrived, we were brought to the Children's Ark and we gathered in the corridor as some of the children in the wards were too ill for us to go into them. We also had to be aware that we could be bringing in infection, so it was wise not to go into the wards.

The carols started in the corridor and amazingly many of the children and their parents, along with some nurses and members of staff came out into the corridor to sing along with us. By the time we were finished the corridor was packed. It was lovely to see such happiness of the faces of everyone.

On the way out of the hospital each of us in our own way thanked God for our health and the gift of music and song which can lift lives and bring happiness.
